From Project Delivery to MRO Framework: Why Customers Are Adding Insulation Covers to Annual Procurement Lists
In the early stage, customers typically purchased a batch of Insulation Covers during new construction or renovation projects, and the project ended there. But food factories have many pieces of equipment and frequent maintenance. Insulation covers age, break, and get lost. Emergency purchases often face tight lead times and inconsistent specifications.
As a result, some customers began to include insulation covers in MRO framework agreements: sorting common specifications based on equipment ledgers; setting safety stock; agreeing on annual prices and lead times; and delivering in batches according to maintenance plans. This way, the equipment department does not need to make emergency inquiries every time, and procurement does not need to repeat the process.
This model places higher demands on suppliers: non-standard customization capability, rapid prototyping, stable lead times, batch traceability, installation guidance, and after-sales replacement. It is no longer "selling a product," but "providing an ongoing service."
